At the heart of this philosophical evolution stands Sir Karl Popper, a thinker whose work in the mid twentieth century fundamentally redefined what it means for a theory to be scientific. His most significant concept, falsifiability, serves as a sharp razor that separates genuine scientific inquiry from pseudoscience and dogma. By shifting the focus of science from the search for confirmation to the search for refutation, Popper’s contribution to science transformed the laboratory from a place of proof into a place of rigorous, unending testing.
